The enthalpy of benzoic acid is often used to calibrate calorimeters; it has been calculated to be -3226.7 kJ/ mol. When 1.986 g of benzoic acid are burned, the temperature of the calorimeter rises from 21.84°C to 25.67°C. What is the heat capacity of the calorimeter?

The answer given was C=13.70 kJ/°C

uma

calculate the total amount of heat liberated on combustion of 1.986 g of benzoic acid
convert g of 1.986 g of benzoic acid  to moles and multiply it -3226.7 kJ/ mol.
now this is q
q = c delta t ---(1)
delta t = 25.67-21.84
plug this in eq 1 to get the final answer
