can you plz explain me the localization and delocalization of electrons?

in sigma bonds electrons are fixed between two atoms and can not be moved to other atoms without breaking of the bonds ,this is called localized electron pairs
when we have alternate sigma and pi bonds then pi electrons can be delocalized on many atoms like in benzene pi electrons are delocalized on 6 carbon atoms
