A 55-year-old woman visits a popular eatery for lunch. She orders a cheese and bacon pizza with extra cheese and has about 3 large glasses of cola (ph value 3). On the way back home, she experiences heartburn and abdominal pain, and has difficulty breathing. She drinks a lot of water and has to consume milk of magnesia (pH value 10.5) before she feels comfortable again.
1.) Classify the liquids that she has consumed as acidic or alkaline based on their values.
2.) State the pH values of water and blood.
3.) Recommend dietary additions for the patient to avoid the symptoms she experienced.
4.) Recommend foods to be avoided by the patient to avoid the symptoms she experienced.

Any help to this problem would be deeply appreciated.  Thank you!

a) substances below pH 7 are acidic and above 7 are bases
b)pH of water is 7 (pure) ,pH of the blood is slightly less than 7
c)include alkaline forming foods : most fruits, green vegetables, peas, beans, lentils, spices, herbs and seasonings, and seeds and nuts.

she should reduce intake of substances which are acidic like softdrinks ,meat, fish, poultry, eggs, grains, and legumes.
