Title: atoms, molecules and ions
Post by: DesertRose on April 30, 2010, 09:55:54 PM
HI, my question is this; if you are given a question that says; determine the number of atoms present in 3 moles of Al (i know how to solve it), what i want to know is, in place of atoms, if they put molecules or ions instead, would you also use the same process i.e. multiply by 6 * 10^23??
Any assistance would be kindly appreciated!!!!

Hi
Mole concept is applicable to all particles --- atoms ,molecule ,ions ,electrons ,protons or any other subatomic particle .

3 moles of Al means -3 X 6.022 X 10^ 23 atoms on Al
