I just started learning Chemistry and I have some unclear thoughts.
Compound: Is a molecule that has exactly 2 different Atoms?
Is a molecule that has 2 or more different Atoms?
Which one is the correct one?
Elements: Some say is another name for Atoms, is this true? But in Daltons Atomic Theory he says that "An Element consists of only one type of
atom, which has a mass that is the same for all atoms of that element".
This make's me think that an element is a molecule with two or more of the same atoms (Like Oxygen). So why do people say
Atom = Element, since an Atom is just a single atom while an Element is a Molecule?
Compound is a molecule which is made up of two or more than two atoms ...they may be identical or different when you are defining it as a molecule.
We have ionic compounds which are made up of two or different types of elements -metal and non metal
