A reaction between sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) and Hydrochloric Acid (HCI) gas produces sodium Chloride (NaCI) and water (H20). A reaction of 22.8g of NaOH with 20.8g of HCL produces 10.2G of h20. What mass of NaCI is produced in the reaction?

What law does this exemplify?

uma

This is the law of conservation of mass --mass can neither be created or destroyed during a chemical reaction.

NaOH   +  HCl ----->NaCl   +   H2O

22.8g    +  20.8g = Mass of NaCl +      10.2g

Mass of NaCl = 33.4 g
