Title: Completing Lewis Dot Structure(s)
Post by: ann on October 04, 2022, 10:06:13 PM
I was asked to complete the lewis structures by showing all lone pairs of electrons of azodicarbonamide and methyl cyanoacrylate. I was wondering if I did it correctly.

Thanks!

You have placed all the lone pairs correctly for nitrogen and oxygen however they should not be any lone pairs here on the carbon atom in either of the structure. In both the structure carbon atoms are tetravalently bonded and arecalready with octet.
So  so no lone pairs on carbon in either  structure.
